Lip blushing is a semi-permanent makeup technique that involves “tattooing” the lips with pigmented color to create the appearance of lipstick. It’s similar to microblading for the eyebrows to create a natural-looking tint to the lips. It can enhance the lips’ natural color and shape.
How long does a lip blushing treatment last?
Most patients find the color stays for 2 to 5 years. This will vary depending on the shade you chose and how many touch up treatments you have over that time span.
What can I expect after a lip blushing treatment?
Your lips will be swollen and very red for several hours after the treatment. The redness will go down over time and the color you see immediately after the procedure is nothing like the final result. Most patients notice their lips are healed between 5 and 10 days after the procedure and the color may change during the healing process.
How long does a lip blushing treatment take?
These treatments take approximately 2 hours, including numbing time.
Does lip blushing hurt?
Just like all of our semi-permanent makeup services, we will numb the treatment area very well so you feel little to no discomfort.
Can I wear lipstick after treatment?
Your lips will be healing for up to 2 weeks after treatment and need to be moisturized regularly. We recommend avoiding makeup and lip treatments that could dry out your lips. Your lips may scab for a short period of time and it’s very important that you don’t pick at these scabs or try and cover them up with makeup.
How long does it take to see my full result?
Results and healing times vary from person to person. Your lips will change colors a few times during the healing process but this is nothing to be worried about. The final color will be more apparent in a few weeks and we can perform touch ups to enhance the color if needed.
