Your rhinoplasty experience

Consultation

Before surgery, our Atlanta rhinoplasty patients engage in a thorough consultation with Dr. Colgrove, which includes a computer simulation of possible results. During the consultation, Dr. Colgrove will discuss your medical history and expectations and evaluate your nose to determine the techniques that will produce the best possible outcome for you. A surgery plan will be created that includes pre-surgery instructions, surgical techniques, and anesthesia to be used, as well as post-operative care and expectations.

Surgery

On the day of your surgery, you will be welcomed into our accredited outpatient surgical center. The rhinoplasty procedure typically lasts between 1 to 2 hours and can be performed under local sedation or general anesthesia. Dr. Colgrove will skillfully reshape your nose to create a more harmonious balance with your facial features. The surgery is usually done on an outpatient basis, meaning you can return home the same day.

Recovery

After your rhinoplasty, you can expect some temporary side effects such as bruising and swelling around your eyes and nose, headaches, and minor bleeding. These are normal and should subside within the first few weeks. Recovery time generally spans 1 to 2 weeks, during which you should rest and avoid strenuous activities. Dr. Colgrove will provide detailed post-operative care instructions to ensure a smooth recovery.

Results

The final results of your rhinoplasty will gradually become apparent as your nose heals. While you will notice improvements as the swelling decreases, the complete and permanent results can take up to 1 year to fully manifest.
