Initial Process for Out of Town Patients
Following your initial inquiry, the patient coordinator at Dr. Colgrove’s office will provide you with all the relevant information and address your questions through phone and/or email. The office is equipped to assist out of town patients with their travel arrangements and hotel bookings.
You can select from among a range of accommodations in Atlanta that will provide you with a comfortable and discreet environment to recover from your surgery. Once you are ready for a pre-operative consultation with Dr. Colgrove, it can be arranged at a pre-scheduled date and time, whether in-person or over the phone and email.
Virtual Consultation
Vinings Surgery Center receives requests from out of town patients who want to have a long distance consultation, rather than travel separately for this purpose. Your patient coordinator at the practice will arrange this, and the surgical team will ensure your virtual consultation is as effective and successful as a face-to-face one.
Prior to the consultation, the team will ask you to submit completed patient forms, including your medical history. You will have to send via email a few photographs of your areas of concern. Dr. Colgrove will review this information, and based on the discussion with you, he will prepare a customized plastic surgery plan to meet your goals.
Scheduling Your Surgery
After your consultation, you may review all your options and inform your patient coordinator once you have made up your mind for your cosmetic surgery with Dr. Colgrove. If you still have any questions or concerns, feel free to address them with your patient coordinator or with the surgeon.
Your patient coordinator will then help you choose a convenient date for your surgery in Atlanta. You may be required to submit lab work and a few medical tests, depending on your health condition and the type of procedure you have chosen.
Travel Plans
It is best if you can arrive in the city at least a day or two prior to your scheduled date of surgery. This will give you time to get comfortable with the new surroundings and ask any last-minute questions from your surgeon.
Preferably, you should have someone accompany you on the surgery day, and stay with you for at least 24 hours afterwards to assist with your early recovery. You can expect to stay around four to seven days post-surgery in Atlanta for your initial recovery.
