Wrinkle Reduction Options

Get Rid of Unwanted Wrinkles

Early onset of facial wrinkles and fine lines can make you look older than your age. Fortunately, a number of proven and effective non-surgical wrinkle reduction treatments are available now to reverse the effects of facing aging.   Vinings Surgery Center, led by board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Robert Colgrove, provides wrinkle reduction procedures to patients in Atlanta, Marietta, Georgia, and surrounding communities.

Injectables

Wrinkle Reduction Options Botox and dermal filler injections rank as the two most popular non-surgical wrinkle reduction options in the US today. Both these injectable treatments are FDA approved for cosmetic reduction of wrinkles and fine lines. Botox can minimize or eliminate frown lines and crow’s feet by causing the overactive wrinkle-causing muscles to relax.   Dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, and Bellafill can fill the deeper wrinkles, creases and folds in the face by volumizing the skin. The filler gel is directly injected into the depleted areas of the face to produce smoother and youthful looking skin.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a time-tested skin resurfacing treatment that involves the use of micro crystals to gently abrade your skin surface. The treatment triggers cellular regeneration to minimize facial lines and mitigate the effects of sun damage, acne scars, and irregular texture. You may require multiple treatment sessions to achieve optimal skin rejuvenation results with microdermabrasion.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels involve the use of a chemical solution of a prescribed strength to gently remove or peel off the dead skin cells from the top skin layers. The treatment will reveal renewed, smoother skin texture and tone, while reducing facial fine lines, minor wrinkles, and irregular pigmentation.  You will have a choice between light, medium and strong chemical peels, depending on your unique needs to reduce wrinkles and other facial skin imperfections.

Collagen Induction Therapy

Micro skin needling, also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT), involves the use of very fine, medical grade micro-needles to create tiny wounds or channels in the upper most skin layers as well as the dermis.  This stimulates the skin’s self-repair mechanism and promotes new collagen production to volumize the skin naturally from within. This will cause the skin to become thicker, more elastic and erase minor wrinkles and acne scars from the face.

Microneedling with PRP

Microneedling process can become much more effective when it is performed in conjunction with PRP therapy. PRP or platelet rich plasma is extracted from the patient’s own blood, which makes it a perfectly natural treatment.   The PRP growth factors will boost the skin’s ability to heal and generate new cells on the skin’s surface, while microneedling triggers the collagen formation process within the skin. This will create smoother skin and reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines.

IPL and Laser Skin Resurfacing

IPL Photofacial and laser skin resurfacing are two light-based treatments to improve the cosmetic appearance of facial skin and eliminate superficial wrinkles and lines. Depending on the severity of your condition, your provider may recommend IPL or laser treatment.   Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Robert Colgrove receives patients from Atlanta, Marietta, Georgia, and nearby areas for advanced and innovative wrinkle reduction treatments.
